Virgin Atlantic is the first airline to achieve NDC standard 18.1

Virgin Atlantic have become the first airline to achieve Level 3 Certification on the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard 18.1. This will allow Virgin Atlantic to facilitate the distribution of their industry leading products, while giving customers more choice and a richer shopping experience.

The certification is the first stage in the airline’s distribution evolution to drive consistency, transparency and choice. They are committed giving agents access to a single source of information such as their schedules, price points and availability regardless of booking channel they choose.

Virgin Atlantic’s partner airline, Delta Air Lines is on track to receive a NDC Standard 18.1 next month.
